Behold, my brethren, he that prophesieth, let him prophesy to the understanding of men; for the Spirit speaketh the truth and lieth not. Wherefore, it speaketh of things as they really are, and of things as they really will be; wherefore, these things are manifested unto us plainly, for the salvation of our souls. - Jacob 4:13
Dear Family and Friends,
This week's scripture highlights this week's miracle. The fact that I'm here writing again is a miracle in and of itself (gracias mi amor), but had another miracle not happened, I don't know where I'd be. Sorry, this story is about boring me, but it could add to your faith that God does know us!
MIRACLE OF THE WEEK:
I had been having a rough go at life with Jac, wedding plans, school, work, and family. I was struggling with feelings about my relationship with Jac, preparing for medical school, and trying to please everybody. All I need to say is that I felt very alone. It was my fault for removing myself from those who love me and from the Spirit, but I didn't see it that way. I saw it as "well, if people know how badly I'm doing, they won't love me. They won't understand my problems. All it will do is disappoint them and make their lives more difficult." Jac felt something was different with me and became very concerned. She prayed for me. She prayed harder than she had in a long time she told me, and she received an answer. The Spirit began to speak to her concerning things as they really are, not as they seem. Right around the time that I felt as alone and dark as I ever had, Jac felt prompted to talk to my sister Emily, so they talked for a couple hours. Emily was able to help Jac see a little bit more about who I am and helped feel at peace (thank you Em). Emily then called me and talked to me about all that I was going through. Believe me when I tell you that I could not have asked for a better person than my sister, who knows so much about me, to talk through things with me. The comfort that came was just what I needed. Jac and I spoke after, and she helped me even more! Those two women were angels to me. They spoke to me plainly; and I believe that it was for the salvation of my soul, as it is said in the scripture. God nearly took over the situation and blessed me more than I ever could have on my own.
He knows us way better than we could know ourselves. That was the lesson that was taught to me during this experience. I let myself believe that I was near worthless and that I couldn't reach the goals I had set for myself. But Em and Jac came along (in my mind, out of nowhere) and helped me see who I really was and who I could become. They told me how things really are and will be.

QUESTION OF THE WEEK:
What are some things that you do to show gratitude to the Lord for all that he hath done?
Have Faith. Have Hope. Live Like His Son. Help Others On Their Way.
Be Consistent. Please, No Empty Chairs.
Love,
Matt
PS, I love you too Jac!

Our sister Emily is an angel in ALL our lives, it seems. :) She is such an example of continually having the spirit with her and helping other people to feel it. I am so glad she was there for you, Matt. She has a gift for helping people to see who they REALLY are. She has shown me that a number of times throughout my life and I am so grateful.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you are writing every once and awhile on Jac's blog!
